Elizabeth Jordan's Avon 3-Day PledgePage
If I told you I’m walking sixty miles in three days to help women with undetected breast cancer find out early enough to survive and to help find a cure for breast cancer, would you support me?
Well, I am! Will you? Like many of you my life has been touched in one way or another by breast cancer. Currently I’m a nursing student at Stony Brook University and have been actively promoting breast cancer awareness at school and within the community. Helping to fight the war against breast cancer has become my new endeavor and I’m hoping to be able to make a difference now and in the future. From October 11th 2002 to October 13th 2002 I will be participating in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk, 60 miles, from Bear Mountain to Manhattan. But in order to do this I need your help. I need to raise at least $1900 by September 1st 2002, donations will go to the Avon Breast Crusade which in turn helps to fund numerous research centers, hospitals and community based organizations in order to provide medical screening and care to women and to aid in research about the causes, prevention and treatment of breast cancer and hopefully one day a cure. A donation of any size would be greatly appreciated. To donate online go to www.bethepeople.com, click on “make an online donation”, pick an event: Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day, New York 2002, enter my name or walker #6954 – click enter, click on my name or number to select me, and make a donation – there are more directions on the website. Or go to the "links" section to the left and click on Be The People or Avon 3-Day Hompage. You can also email me and I'll be more than happy to send you a donation form - ejordan13@excite.com. And if you would like the name of a loved one on one of the shirts I will be wearing during the walk please email, ejordan13@excite.com, with their name and whether it’s in support of, celebration of or in memory of. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my pledgepge and for reading this and thank you in advance for making a donation. With many thanks, Elizabeth Jordan |
